How No-Tie Shoelace Sizing Works

No-tie shoelaces are different from traditional laces. They are designed to be flexible, adjustable, and customized during installation.

Key differences include:

  • Most no-tie systems are universal length
  • They are adjusted or trimmed during installation
  • Fit is based on tension, not lace length
  • They work across a wide range of eyelet counts
  • Designed to create a consistent slip-on fit

👉 This means you don’t need to match an exact shoelace length like you would with standard laces.

How to Install No-Tie Shoelaces

Installing no-tie shoelaces is quick and usually takes just a few minutes.

  • Step 1: Remove Existing Laces. Take out your current shoelaces completely.
  • Step 2: Thread the No-Tie System. Insert the elastic laces through each eyelet.
  • Step 3: Adjust Tension. Set your preferred tightness for comfort and fit.
  • Step 4: Secure the Locking System. Use your capsule, buckle, or magnetic lock to secure the lace.
  • Step 5: Trim Excess (if required). Some systems allow trimming for a clean finish.

How To Install Elastic No-Tie Shoelaces with Silver Capsule Lock System

This step-by-step guide will show you how to install your elastic laces for a secure, comfortable fit.

Lace Your Shoes

Thread the elastic laces through each eyelet the same way you would with regular shoelaces. Start at the bottom and work your way up evenly on both sides.

Add Capsule Locks

Slide the silver capsule locks onto both laces to create a clean, secure fit. Push each lace end through the lock opening, then slide the locks down toward the edge of the shoe near the top eyelets.

Test Tightness

Step into the shoe and pull the laces across until the capsule locks line up evenly on both sides. Adjust the lace tension and capsule position until the fit feels secure, balanced, and comfortable.

Secure The Elastic Laces

Tie small, neat knots close to the capsule locks and tighten them so the knots sit securely inside the capsule, holding everything in place.

💡 Hold the laces between the eyelet (inside the shoe) and the knot, then pull firmly to form a small, tight knot before finalizing the capsule position.

Trim The Laces

Carefully trim any excess lace just beyond the knots, leaving a small amount of length to keep the setup secure while creating a clean, finished look. Then push the capsule locks over the knots to conceal them.

Lock & Go!

Twist the capsule locks together until they feel firmly secured, locking the laces in place for a clean, no-tie finish.

💡The laces naturally twist when the lock is secured. To fix this, leave the capsules locked in place, then gently rotate each lace until it sits flat against the shoe for a cleaner, more comfortable finish.
